The First Coast Wind Ensemble is a non-profit organization of volunteer musicians that serve as a cultural resource dedicated to providing its community with performances of high quality wind literature. Membership in the ensemble is composed of musicians from Jacksonville and Northeast Florida, ranging in background from professional musicians and educators to business professionals and college students.First Coast Wind Ensemble membership is open to any musician who completes a successful audition and agrees to the conditions of membership as stated in the bylaws. If you’d like to join the organization, please contact Personnel Manager Susan May. We welcome interested players on any band instrument.
Open auditions are scheduled on August 16, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. for the ensemble’s 22nd concert season which begins August 30. The auditions will take place at Jacksonville University, 2800 University Blvd. North, Jacksonville. A second audition date will be held on November 8, 2011. The audition consists of a prepared work of your choice that best displays your ability. Prior band or orchestra experience is required.
