HERE'S HOW IT WORKS... CONTACT: Susan May The First Coast Wind Ensemble is an auditioned ensemble. We are happy to listen to good musicians anytime, whether we have an immediate opening or not. There will be playing opportunities in most sections over the course of a year for reliable, skilled players who can read. Please contact Susan May, our personnel manager for information on audition and membership requirements. Present openings and reserve positions are filled by invitation only upon completion of an audition. We have many areas of need and are always eager to hear good players, so please contact us if you have an interest and are looking for an outlet to play challenging music well. The First Coast Wind Ensemble is a non-profit organization of volunteer musicians dedicated to providing its community with outstanding performances of high quality wind literature. Membership in the ensemble is composed of musicians from Jacksonville and Northeast Florida, ranging in background from professional musicians and educators to business professionals and college students. First Coast Wind Ensemble co-conductors are Artie Clifton, Associate Professor of Music at Jacksonville University, and Dr. Dale Blackwell, former Professor of Music and Director of Bands at Florida Community College in Jacksonville. Now entering its sixteenth season, the ensemble continues the great American tradition of community bands and wind ensembles. |
